The Phoenix is a volunteer-led movement that is fostering community both in-person and online (via the new app). To date, The Phoenix has served more than 500,000 members–helping them find community, hope, and a path to lasting recovery.
83% of members report remaining sober after three months. To put that into perspective, typical relapse rates after treatment are between 40% and 60%. At The Phoenix, the relapse rate is 17%.
The Phoenix uses a framework called “CHIME” to track the success of its members over time. CHIME stands for connectedness, hope, identity, meaning, and empowerment. Each factor is measured on a five-point scale using methodologies endorsed by experts from Texas A&M, the Recovery Research Institute, Leeds Trinity University, and more.
Longer engagement with The Phoenix continues to benefit members on their journeys as they continue to transform their lives in positive ways. Members experience a 16% surge in flourishing within their first year of engagement with The Phoenix and continue to see improvement year after year. For those with The Phoenix for almost 10 years, this rises by as much as 46%.
The Phoenix community is growing thanks to more than 3,200 volunteers who have hosted more than 114,000 events.
